Designing a Secure GenAI and RAG Platform for Financial Services

CHALLENGE

HD Securities is developing digital and AI capabilities to improve customer engagement, financial knowledge access, investment-related experiences and internal operational efficiency. The POC required an architecture capable of combining generative AI with controlled financial knowledge sources while maintaining security, scalability and data protection. The platform also needed to support grounded responses for customer and internal queries, protected infrastructure access and future integration with digital investment and wealth-management services.

SOLUTION

TitanBases designed an AWS-based GenAI and retrieval-augmented generation architecture combining secure application infrastructure with managed AI and knowledge-retrieval services. Application traffic is distributed through AWS networking and load-balancing components to private compute workloads, with PostgreSQL providing replicated application data services. Documents stored in Amazon S3 are processed into embeddings and indexed in Amazon OpenSearch Serverless. Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases retrieves relevant information and augments user queries before they are sent to the selected foundation model for response generation.

POC VALIDATION

• Defined a secure GenAI and RAG architecture for customer-facing and internal financial knowledge workflows.
• Established a retrieval pipeline connecting controlled document sources, embeddings, vector search and foundation-model generation.
• Designed application and data infrastructure for scalable operation across private AWS networking and multiple Availability Zones.
• Incorporated security, monitoring and AI-safety controls into the POC design, including encryption, threat monitoring and Bedrock Guardrails.
